OBT associate director discusses cellulosic ethanol in Lake Odessa
On May 29, Bruce Dale, Office of Biobased Technologies
associate director, spoke at a press conference sponsored by General Motors at the US Bio Woodbury ethanol plant in Lake Odessa.
Dale, who has studied cellulosic ethanol for more than 30 years, talked about research underway at MSU to make producing cellulosic ethanol more efficient and cost-effective. By 2030, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, 30 percent of the country's energy needs could be met by grain-based and cellulosic ethanol.
