William Freckman holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University.
Before becoming director of operations for the MSU Bioeconomy Institute in 2009, he was responsible from 2003‐2009 for total site operations at the Pfizer Global Manufacturing (PGM) Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing facility in Holland, Michigan. The Pfizer site in Holland played a key role in the launch and supply of five major pharmaceutical products, including Lipitor and Neurontin.
He has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing and development. Freckman has been a member of the American Chemical Society since 1975.
